This website uses First Nations peoples and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to refer to the First Peoples of Australia. These terms are not interchangeable with each other or with other descriptors, and neither encompasses the full diversity of distinct nations, language groups, and communities across this continent and its islands. Wherever possible, the preferred terminology of the specific person, community, or Country should be used. If you are unsure, ask.
