When capitalised in connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, Country is a proper noun referring to the ancestral lands, waterways, skies, and the living relationships — cultural, spiritual, ecological, and governance — that First Nations peoples maintain with those places. Country encompasses knowledge systems, responsibilities, and identities that have been sustained continuously for over 65,000 years. Every touring exhibition travels across Country.
